    Behind the iron veil of the Kremlin, a vast and silent revolution was being hammered out in blood and steel. Having clawed its way out of the ashes of a civil war, the Soviet Union was a land possessed by a singular, frantic directive: to modernize a century in a decade, or be crushed. It was a world of "Five-Year Plans" and midnight knocks at the door, where a paranoid state purged its own ranks to ensure absolute, terrifying unity.

    While the capitalist West looked on with a mix of dread and disdain, the Red Colossus was transforming its ancient soil into an endless factory of tanks and tractors. They watched the rise of the fascist beast in the West with a cold, calculating eye, not as a neighbor to be reasoned with, but as a predator to be outlasted. They signed a pact with the devil to buy time, knowing all the while that the vast, frozen plains of the East would eventually become the world's largest graveyard.
